Mini Cruises
26/10/2009 | external link
From my blog article: Mini-cruises a great way to get a foretaste of what a cruise is all about, so perfect for first-time cruisers. Mini cruises generally last four to five days and include all the usual on-board entertainment and sometimes much more, but you get more for your money than you would with a land-based holiday as you usually visit two to three destinations in one trip. To mention only two options, go can go classic, choosing a cruise which will take you to Malta, Italy (Naples, Rome and Florence) and then France (Cannes) before returning to Barcelona. Or, discover the Baltics under a completely different perspective, sailing through Estonia and Russia, and back to Stockholm..

Titanic cruise
26/10/2009 | external link
Did you know that on 8th April 2012 a cruise ship will follow the RMS Titanic's original itinerary? It will arrive at the Titanic site on April 14th/15th exactly 100 years on from this tragic voyage, where a memorial service will be held to pay tribute to the brave passengers and crew who perished on that fateful night. The voyage will then continue to Halifax, Nova Scotia, the final resting place of many who were on board, before sailing on to New York, the Titanic's ultimate planned destination. The food served will match the sumptuous menus on the original voyage; the entertainment will include music and dancing in the Georgian style. I haven't decided if it's a cool or a scary thing...what do you guys think? I found this info on the net, together with some other unique cruise ideas! If interested: http://stowawaykat.blogspot.com/2009/10/ultimate-cruises.html.

Iquitos, Peru, heart of the Amazon rainforest
26/10/2009 | external link
I agree, 'the heart of the amazon' isn't necessarily the first thing you think of when you book a vacation, but there really is no better way to immerse yourself in the jungle than staying in the centre of it. I should know, Exodus, who I work for, use an eco-friendly lodge right in the heart of the jungle- love it! And thanks for the post- Belen sounds incredible...

Kidnappings in East Sabah, Borneo
26/10/2009 | external link
If you are travelling with an organised group I doubt you have much to worry about. We went last year, we arranged all travel before leaving the Uk, so we were looked after and at no point did we feel unsafe. But if there are warnings, just play it as safe as you can. Best to be safe than sorry as they say!.

I want to Tibet
26/10/2009 | external link
Tibet is amazing, we visited it a few years ago. I think it is best if you go on a tour with a travel company. There are alot advertising on the internet. You do have to be careful with the alititude, my husband was okay, but I suffered with nose bleeds every day. But the trip was definately worth while, so do not let this put you off..
Has anyone been scammed in South America?
26/10/2009 | external link
I have heard several stories here about a gringo who hustles other gringos for money, because he's been robbed of all his money and belongings. His mother, or grandmother has promised to send him money through Western Union, but as he has no passport anymore, the money will be sent in your name, not his. Two guys I met in Iquitos traveled with this guy from Pucallpa to Iquitos by river boat and spent five days with him. They paid for his fare and his food and drinks. They all had a good time and it didn't cost them a fortune, but when they arrived in Iquitos, the guy disappeared. Obviously there was never any money sent through Western Union. The two guys were actually worried about their new 'friend' going missing and hadn't immediately realized that it had been a scam. Just this week, another visitor ran into a guy with a similar story here in Iquitos.

26/10/2009 | external link
I love strolling in the beach and I love the clean and quite one. And I think Biaritz Beach and Tarifa are one of the top ten European beaches in the world . The Biarritz Beach, located in France, definitely deserves the first position in the list of top ten beaches in Europe. And Tarifa, Spain is also one of the most beautiful beach in Europe..
Weirdest food you ate in China
26/10/2009 | external link
We went out with some Chinese friends and they treated us to 'hot pot' I was really looking forward to it until it arrived. It was a big pot with boiling oil and water and it had a whole black chicken in it, head, claws the lot and some very strange looking snake thing, black hard eggs and flowers very odd and it was awful, but we did not want to hurt their feelings, so we had to eat it. They also ordered as a side dish, ducks tail (literally) and lambs lung, both uncooked. OMG..

26/10/2009 | external link
I had heard that Nairobi was the most dangerous city in Africa before I went there, fortunately it wasnt true, at least from my personal experience, but the fact is that I didnt go to any slams or subburbs, where the crime is more common I think.
